Coming Attractions has now moved to Mondays in an effort to bring you more new release information in a more timely, and therefore useful manner. Leading off the week tomorrow (or tonight if you’re into the midnight launch thing) is Halo 3: ODST. That will be followed big time MMO hopeful Aion: Tower of Eternity, grindhouse style ninja action in WET, junk collection action in Katamari Forever and a whole bunch of puzzle solving in Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box.
Don’t forget to check out the full release schedule for the latest changes and information on upcoming games.

This week’s Coming Attractions is brought to you by broken street dates and clearance sales. Many of the games marked for release tomorrow, like Colin McCrae DiRT 2, Need for Speed SHIFT and NHL 10 should already be available in stores now, unless your local game shill is one of those ones that plays by the book. There is also a few neat console ports hitting the PC this week, namely destructor-sim Red Faction Guerilla and Resident Evil 5.
From next week on, we’ll be bringing Coming Attractions to you on Mondays, mostly in an effort to avoid street date breaches messing up our hard work. Don’t forget that you can check out our full release schedule for any updates and changes.

What have the gaming public been buying this week via digital distribution platform Steam? ... Last week seemed to have a RPG theme, with Aion taking out the number one spot... again. It was followed by Champions Online, and one of the best RPGs ever made, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Left 4 Dead also managed to sell some more copies, as did Braid.
If you want to what else sold the most last week, you'll just have to check out the Steam Top Sellers for the week ending September 13th!

While you would be forgiven for groaning "not another FPS!", the futuristic shooter Section 8 has turned quite a few heads while still in beta, and even if not the Next Big Thing, than nearly certain to be a regular feature on many gamers' schedule for the next few months. With only a few days to go until the game's full launch, it's about time we knuckled down to the really serious business... of organising into clans and ripping up the ladder!
Helpfully, SouthPeak Interactive are well aware of our competitive natures, and have designed a robust clan and stats portal which will launch simultaneously with the US version, and will be open to players from all territories.

Last week, people wanted to know why Diablo III might be censored for Australian audiences. Other gamers were made happy by news that a new patch for Battlefield 2 was announced, and people wanted to know more about the events that took place at BlizzCon. Also popular was news about the opportunity to go on a virtual date with celebrity Megan Fox.

On the battlefield, music may well be the last thing on your mind, but when free falling through the beauty of the skies - admittedly, into a battlefield, but still - an appropriately majestic soundtrack is a must. Luckily for Section 8, the upcoming FPS about soldiers who jump out of planes, award-winning composer Jason Graves has been hard at work creating just that.

Section 8 is a game about soldiers brave (or mental) enough to leap out of high altitude aircraft into intense conflict situations. This seems like a pretty convenient way to explain away tactically interesting spawn points that make little logistical sense, but whatever! Taking a dive into the battlefield is at least three thousand times as awesome as watching the "waiting to spawn" message, so let's check out this magnificent behind the scenes trailer all about it.

Are you tired of running around historical or modern day battlegrounds, using and discarding real-world weapons? Do you find yourself thinking "ho-hum, this is nine hundredth time I have captured this German trench"? Perhaps it's time to check out science fiction title Section 8, the shiny looking FPS from TimeGate Studios. What convenient timing! The European beta is currently seeking testers.

It is Tuesday once more, and whether you like it or not, Now Playing returns with a twinkle in its eye and a chip on its shoulder. This week, we examine many recently released trailers, noting our displeasure (or in rare cases, pleasure) at the content held within.
This week, we take another look at the world from those privileged enough to spend time with dragons, before being consumed by flame and finding ourselves in hell. Shortly after we've been tormented for our sins, we discover that in actual fact, we were stuck in an asylum, which may or may not have once been inhabited by insane members of the army.
Finally, we come to the not-so surprising revelation that we're all just virtual, disgruntled World War II era veterans out to make a buck and save the world.

Atari Australia have signed a deal with SouthPeak Games, which will see the publisher distribute the upcoming, multiplayer-centric first person shooter Section 8, which is due for release in the third quarter of this year on the PC and the Xbox 360.
Currently in development at TimeGate Studios, Section 8 takes players to a science-fiction universe where "mankind's greatest battle is about to begin". With an insurrection ravaging the frontier colonies, the elite 8th Armoured Infantry division is sent to deal with the matter, using the "most advanced arsenal of military hardware".
