NVIDIA FaceWorks

NVIDIA have released the application behind their recent human face-rendering technology video, so that home users can run it for themselves.

You can adjust the rendering options in real-time during the video, to see how NVIDIA’s FaceWorks technology copes with different lighting conditions. Getting creeped out by the Uncanny Valley effect is not part of the demo but you’re welcome to do it anyway.

If you’d like, you can download the demo right here from our file library which is, of course, quota-free for iiNet group customers.

Neverwinter

Our good friend and file library overlord Cas Bitton has uploaded the current beta files for Neverwinter to the games.on.net file library! You can download them here.

Please note that our file library is of course only quota-free for customers of the iiNet group — everyone else only gets to enjoy the fast speeds instead.

Neverwinter just went into open beta yesterday and is free-to-play, so jump in if you’re keen. Sign-up here.

Battlefield 4

We’ve managed to grab 2.29 GB of smooth, silky Battlefield 4 footage in 60FPS and full 1080p — and our file wizard Cas has uploaded it to our file library for your enjoyment.

This is of course the same footage you have seen before, but now running the way it was meant to be seen — perfect for freeze-framing and comparing the two engines. All downloads from our file library are quota-free for iiNet group customers, of course.

Want more Battlefield 4? We spoke to DICE and asked them exactly what was so important about their single-player campaign. Resident gun-nut Toby however, was less than impressed.

Sonic Generations Unleashed

If you own Sonic Generations on Steam, why not pump it to the next level by downloading the Sonic Generations Unleashed mod from our file library?

The mod adds high-resolution textures, as well as many of the console-exclusive levels from the Xbox 360 release of the game, all redone in HD for the PC.

The project is a massive undertaking, and in fact was so good that it caused Cas to be late to work today. Download it right now and save yourself 2.3 GB (iiNet Group customers only, naturally).

Free-to-play flight sim FlightGear has received a major overhaul last week to bring it up to version 2.10.3, which includes a significant graphical enhancement that brings all-new cockpits and instrumental panels. This is the first release since August of last year and includes massive lighting changes, with the introduction of the Atmospheric Light Scattering system to create impressive new environmental effects.

A full changelog is available at the official wiki, or you can check out the video below for an overview of the major changes. Naturally, we’ve uploaded the latest to our file library: download the Windows version here, or alternatively you can also find the Mac version here instead.

Aliens: Killing Floor

“When Braindead and Hemi created the M41A Pulse Rifle for killing floor, there was only 1 logical next step,” reads the description for the Aliens: Killing Floor mod. “Let’s make everything Aliens!” And so it is that Aliens: Killing Floor is finally released, a mod that reskins Killing Floor in its entirety to add facehuggers, alien warriors, queens, marines and everything in between.

The 240MB mod can be downloaded right now from our file library, and includes new enemies, new game types, new weapons, new player skins, new HUD, new loading screens, new maps, and a whole new KFEditor.

The dev team are hoping to add more content in the future, so keep an eye on the official ModDB page and let us know if we need to update our version on the file mirror. Enjoy!

Throw away your old benchmarking tools and get ready to run the latest version, because FutureMark have released 3DMark 2013. Since it weighs in at over 900MB, we’ve uploaded it to our file mirror so that you can grab it quota-free.

This time around, 3DMark contains three demos: ‘Fire Strike’, designed for high end PCs with DirectX 11-based graphics, ‘Cloud Gate’ for mainstream DirectX 10 stuff, and Ice Storm for low-level, DirectX 9-based PCs. Take a look below, or check out the official site for more.

Once you’ve run it, join us in the forum and post your results!

Omerta: City of Gangsters

Omerta: City of Gangsters is a promising cross between a city-management-sim and a tactical combat game, putting you in the shoes of a crime family trying to battle your way to the top by planning your own heists, organising your own gangs, and taking control of territory.

Now you can try on those shoes for yourself and see whether the final game will grab your interest: we’ve just uploaded the 700MB demo to our file library. The demo features two levels from the full game, so that should hopefully give you a taste. Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Omerta launches this Friday.

Path of Exile

UPDATE: Cas has just replaced the old file with a new one compressed down to 2GB instead of 5GB. The links below now go to this new file!

Now that our overnight download of Path of Exile‘s open beta client has finally finished, our main man Cas has whacked it up on the File Library for you all to download and save yourself a) 5GB of quota, and b) from having to thrash Grinding Gears’ servers over and over like everybody else.

So! Click here to download the Path of Exile open beta client from our file library. Enjoy!

“What the hell is Path of Exile,” you mutter? Watch this trailer and be enlightened (then, come back here and download it).

Interested in helping Bethesda out with The Elder Scrolls Online? Well, as of right now beta sign-ups are now available for their upcoming MMO — head over to the official website for all the details of how to sign up.

To celebrate, they’ve released this rather snazzy and impressively long trailer — take a look below for five minutes of CG goodness (or download it from our file mirror in HD). Is it as impressive as the Heart of the Swarm opening movie? It’s a very close call.

We don’t know much about TESO yet, but we do know some interesting facts, including its dedication to an almost-single-server philosophy using what they’re calling ‘Megaservers’. One of the cool things about this technology is that players will be able to select what sort of play styles they’re interested in (PVP, PVE, raids etc) and what age groups they want to play with, and the architecture will seamlessly sort you into zone instances with people matching your requirements, but never require you to switch servers to find your friends. It’s not really the same as a proper single-server, but it’s a very interesting approach nonetheless.

World of Tanks

The latest update for World of Tanks is upon us, and update 0.8.3 brings with it 17 new Chinese tanks. “The Chinese tanks have adopted the most successful battle characteristics of their predecessors,” reads the official announcement.

“The maneuverability of the Americans, accuracy of the British, rate of fire of the French and the striking power of the Soviet. The Chinese tanks are the renaissance of the Soviet vehicles of the war and post-war period.”

0.8.3 also includes a bunch of balance changes and tweaks, which you can read over here.

Because we loathe the idea of anybody spending 4GB of quota they don’t have to, we’ve uploaded the SEA client to our file mirror. Get cracking!

We’ve just added the free, open-source indie roguelike Tales of Maj’Eyal (affectionately known as TOME) to our file mirror so that you, too, can enjoy the fun of staying alive and questing through randomly-generated dungeons, slaying undead, and running away from trolls. As an added bonus, the whole system is open and ready for modules, which means that if you really like it, you can go ahead and start making it your own.

Download the Windows client from here (Linux and Mac clients also available).

Want to know more about TOME? Hit up the official site.
