Gray Matter gains thoughtful release day, screens

Is the adventure genre going through a bit of a renaissance? All of a sudden it's okay to admit you like to point-and-click, that witty writing and clever puzzle creation are worthy design goals, and the heroes of the genre's hey-day are worth celebrating.

Let's celebrate Gabriel Knight creator Jane Jensen, whose latest project Gray Matter has once again received a release date.

I say once again because we have been expecting it since early 2008 and are obviously yet to be rewarded, but publishers dtp reckon October this year, slightly earlier than previously announced. When release days move forward, we feel more confident in backing them.

Along with a release date, dtp were kind enough to shell out a whack of new screenshots, showing off the game's unique atmosphere.

Here's hoping the resurgence of interest in games-for-brains will carry Gray Matter through to its PC and Xbox 360 release safe and sound.
