Nintendo Announces Impressive 2nd Quarter Lineup

There's a couple of Mario variants and a version of Big Brain Academy for Wii, as well as Pokemon Battle Revolution - not only the first Pokemon game for the Wii, but also the first Wii game to utilise Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Play, and the first Wii game to be controlled with the Nintendo DS - in fact, it's the first game to link the Wii and the hand-held DS!
The plan is that when you link your Wii and DS, your DS unit can be used as a controller, or to import characters from the upcoming Pokemon Diamond or Pokemon Pearl. Pokemon Battle Revolution is a Wii exclusive, set for a June 25 release, bringing a dramatic new chapter to the Pokemon franchise.
Other highlights of the 2nd quarter lineup include Super Paper Mario (the first Mario game for Wii) and Mario Party 8 (a multiplayer party game), as well as Big Brain Academy (a brain-trainer that builds on the success of the DS titles). By Nintendo's calculations, the library of Wii games will total more than 50 by the end of June (in America, at least... no news on Australian dates for these yet).
"With strong third-party support, Wii and Nintendo DS have games on the way for both casual and veteran gamers," says Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime. "Our new ways to play have attracted millions of players around the world. This lineup demonstrates our commitment to leading the industry with the future of video gaming."
