The anticipated sequel will not release on PC. Instead, it's going to turn up on handhelds.
EA haven't said whether they mean the DS, PSP, both, or perhaps even the iPad - just that we can expect Dead Space 2 on "consoles and handhelds".
I'm quite flummoxed by this decision. Surely the PC is the franchise's most natural home? But here I show my naivety by thinking like a gamer and not a capitalist. I am interested in the quality of the gameplay experience, and not raking in masses of cash. (Not that I would say no.)
This is normally the bit where an objective and unbiased reporter points out that the games industry is a business and PC games don't make as much money as shovelware portable ports. But I wrote this article, so I'm just going to have a temper tantrum instead. Hey, publishers! Release games on PC, and maybe we'll give you some money for them!
Thanks again go to Tycn for this one!
