All good things must come to an end, and in the case of Telltale's excellent Tales of Monkey Island series, that end has arrived. Rise of the Pirate God, the final episode in the reprise of LucasArts' beloved adventure franchise, is now available for all your pointing and clicking delectation.

So now there's really no excuse for not immediately grabbing the entire set and enjoying an orgy of puzzling amusement.

Those of you old enough to have snapped keyboards in frustration over the original games might be wondering if the new episodes live up to them; a quick glance at the credits should reassure you.

Familiar staffers making a return to the Monkey Island world include designer and writer Dave Grossman, designer and director Mike Stemmle, composer Michael Land, and voice actors Dominic Armato (Guybrush), Alexandra Boyd (Elaine) and Earl Boen (LeChuck).

If you haven't been paying attention, the story this time around sees our hero Guybrush Threepwood in search of a mystical artifact with the power to, um, exfoliate. This proves necessary after a classic piece of monkey business sees him accidentally infecting his home town with the pox of LeChuck.

The path leading from here to the events of Rise of the Pirate God are just as convoluted as you would expect, so if you want an explanation, it's probably best that you just head over to the TellTale website and pick the game up.
