Introducing the DS LL
Well, I kind of hoped it wasn't true, but it looks like Nintendo have done it again. Another new DS model is officially on its way, following on from the rumours of a few weeks back. Surprisingly, the latest edition bucks the trend by being significantly larger than its precursor.

Images have been floating around for a few days now, so it's probably time we took a look at them, and our newest reason to bemoan early adoption.

The model is called the "DS LL" - because one L is just not enough to size this beast - and as the side-by-side comparisons show, is quite a more daunting pocket prospect than the DSi, and weighs in at 314 grams. As with the leap from the DS to DSi, a bigger screen is in place to spark debate on scaling versus black borders.

All that extra size is put to good use, I suppose, with a two hour increase in battery life. The DS LL will apparently retail at a higher price than the DSi, and come with a handful of DSiWare titles built in - which is not exactly compensation for the fact that by upgrading, you'll lose any you've already purchased.
