[TGS] No Resident Evil 5 for Wii, RE6 years away

Speaking at the Tokyo Games Show, the man behind Resident Evil 5 and Lost Planet 2 confirmed that there are no plans at this time to port the action horror hit to Wii. Jun Takeuchi also stated that a producer for Resident Evil 6 hadn't even been decided on yet, which would suggest in turn that the next iteration of Capcom's zombie-blasting franchise is still years away.

The senior Capcom producer also noted that the trend towards including more user-friendly controls with the series is likely to continue.

"I think, while Resident Evil 4 is a great game, its appeal was limited somewhat to maniac players."
