Economical Gamer's Bargain Bin - September 14
This week has been huge, with many preorder deals starting to pop up for eagerly anticipated titles such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on PC going for a mere $53.95, free delivery Australia-wide, at CD WOW! (www.cdwow.com.au). However, the console versions of the game are a tad more pricey – we’ll bring you the best prices as we find them as we inch closer to the November release.

Other hot preorders include Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City, which is a 2-game bundle including GTA: The Lost and Damned and GTA: The Ballad of Gay Tony. Get both games for a mere $69.95 on Xbox 360, preordered from EB Games. You don’t need an original copy of GTA IV to play, and it’ll be released in October.

If you’re looking out for Assassin’s Creed II, due for release in November, make sure you preorder from JB Hi-Fi. The PC Standard Edition is going for $79, with the special White Edition just $99. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will be $10 more respectively ($89 for standard, $109 for special). If you’re after the highly-coveted Black Edition, it’s an EB Games exclusive. Expect to pay up to $150 for the console versions though.

Halo fans keen on upgrading their Xbox 360 and picking up Halo 3: ODST should strongly consider Harvey Norman’s bundle, which includes a black Xbox 360 Elite console + Halo Wars + Halo 3: ODST for just $429. This deal is part of their latest catalogue which ends on September 27th.

Looking for the lowest price on the new PS3 Slim? For the 120GB model, the current top deals are at EB Games, with the console going for $496 buncled with 1 game (choice of Grand Theft Auto IV, Little Big Planet, or Killzone 2) and 5 different $25 vouchers (Product page: http://www.ebgames.com.au/ps3/product.cfm?id=15476).
If you’re just seeking the bare console, GAME is offering it for just $479 as a web-only price from their website (www.game.com.au). They provide free delivery Australia-wide. Some of our members have been successful asking their local GAME to price match the online price in-store, but be aware not every GAME will honour this arrangement!

EB Games has also started a sale on both new and preowned games. Prices have been slashed across all platforms, with many games coming down to $46, $34, $23 and even $9 for new titles. Check out the sale on their website (http://ebgames.com.au/promotion.cfm).
