Dawn of War II to get new survivial mode

It seems that Relic Entertainment aren't ready to let Dawn of War II die peacefully, with the developer announcing that the game will soon see another content update, which introduces a new co-operative mode called Survival.

In the new mode, players will choose a hero, and fight hordes of enemies while supporting their team mates. Progress made during a level will be persistent, so the next time a player logs on to the game, they'll be able to take their stronger hero, shiny new war hear and do battle all over again, in what is best described as a hybrid of tower defence and MMO-style grinding.

The new content pack is due for release at some point in October, and will be available for free to all owners of the game. In addition to the new Survival mode (and a map to accompany the mode) a bunch of bug fixes and balance changes will be also introduced, the details of which have not yet been announced.

More information about the new survival mode, and balance updates is expected to be released in the future.
