Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles is a strange little beastie, collecting together as it does the plots of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica, which while not sequentially connected, are strongly linked by the series' ongoing plot and pivotal characters. As well as a pleasant update to graphics and controls, the game gives new players a chance to experience two important story lines central to the franchise, or to re-explore familiar events from a fresh perspective.

This "fresh perspective" thing is obviously really striking a chord down at Capcom; how would you also like to experience the plot via the medium of Twitter?

That's right - to promote the game's upcoming release, and as a treat for fans, both Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy are tweeting "live" from within the game, and you can follow their adventures to your heart's content, all from the comfort of your Twitter stream.

I pour a lot of unfair criticism on hard working PR staff, who are often faced with the momentous task of making one game they often haven't even been allowed to look at stand out from an enormous range of competitors. Capcom are being a bit clever here, and both character's tweets make for entertaining reading, especially if you're already familiar with the game's events.

So far there hasn't been much "got my face chewed off, had to reload for the seventh time", but perhaps that's unique to my experience of the original games. You can enlist amongst your favourite zombie-fighting character's twerps at @Leon_Darkside and @Claire_Darkside.
