Guybrush Threepwood and I have history. History of the kind where games are banished to the naughty shelf and baby newsbots sit and the ground and tantrum in frustration, learning valuable life lessons like: don't play point-and-click games, you are bad at them.

Other people apparently had better experiences, and it is to these people - blessed with problem-solving skills, a good sense of humour, and an attention span longer than a gnat's - to whom I address this wonderful news: The second episode of Tales of Monkey Island is due this week.

The first episode of Telltale Games re-interpretation of the classic LucasArts franchise has been available since early July, so you have no excuse not to have snapped it up. Well, you probably have - it rode high on the Steam Top Seller List for several weeks, including the first week of its launch, and performed similarly on the Wiiware charts.

Telltale CEO Dan Connors is pleased with the first episode's success but immodestly unsurprised:

"We're happy to see that Tales of Monkey Island has captured the interest of longtime fans and new customers who can appreciate a great game when it comes across their horizon,"

The second episode of Tales of Monkey Island, Siege of Spinner Cay, launches for PC on Thursday (possibly Friday, local time) with the Wii version to come "shortly thereafter". The whole season of five episodes can be purchased at a discount directly from Telltale's website.
