Rock Band shreds it up with Metal Track Pack

Are you shredding yet?
Did you see the Brutal Legend Rubik's Cube trailer in this week's Now Playing? Revealing details of the game's soundtrack - including over a hundred pretty terrific rock and metal tracks - brought quite a lot of applause, and comments along the lines of "now that's how all these so-called "rock" games should do it!"

Maybe somebody at Harmonix was listening, hence the sudden arrival of Rock Band add on disc, Metal Track Pack.

The pack, which is being offered as a stand-alone retail disc, will contain twenty tracks, six of which have not appeared on any Rock Band release so far, or through the online store. These tracks will remain exclusive to the Metal Track Pack for an undisclosed time before being made available for individual purchase. The collection is described as:
" .. bone-crushing, ear-lashing, face-melting metal ..."
... and includes the following set list, which may or may not match the description above, depending on your definition of metal:

How about now...?
  • All That Remains - Two Weeks
  • At the Gates - Blinded By Fear
  • Black Tide - ShockWave
  • Bullet For My Valentine - Waking the Demon
  • Children of Bodom - Are You Dead Yet
  • Evile - Thrasher
  • Godsmack - I Stand Alone
  • The Haunted - D.O.A.
  • In This Moment - Forever
  • Judas Priest - Screaming for Vengeance
  • Lacuna Coil - Closer
  • Lamb of God - Laid to Rest
  • Queens of the Stone Age - 3’s & 7’s
  • Yngwie Malmsteen - Red Devil
The above are all currently available as DLC, whereas the six pack-exclusive tracks are:
  • Rage Against The Machine - Bulls On Parade
  • Nazareth - Hair of the Dog
  • Motörhead - Killed by Death
  • Hawkwind - Master Of The Universe
  • I Mother Earth - Levitate
  • Blue Öyster Cult - Transmaniacon MC
While the dis will work as a stand-alone title, you can also import tracks into your existing Rock Band libraries. The Metal Track Pack is due out in the U.S. towards the end of Rocktober, so add on a few months of arguing with Australia's licensing issues before we see this one locally.
