The pack, which is due in September, holds as its primary goal the delivery of a thirty-minute versus mode. Apparently this is to be achieved by the addition of a recharge timer for infected players, and changes to item spawns.
Other modes get a look in though, with content expected for the other multiplayer modes, in the form of Survival maps and a Co-operative campaign, as well as single player material. The events of Crash Course span the interval between No Mercy and Death Toll, and players familiar with the original campaigns have probably glanced over the poster and title and formed a pretty good idea of what might take place!
And Valve's comment on the possible demise of Left 4 Dead in favour of its spunky successor? Gabe Newell seems confident that day is still far off:
"Since the release of Left 4 Dead last November, the design team has been excited about creating new experiences for this world and allowing players to do the same, by releasing much of our internal toolset, like the Survival Pack and Authoring Tools ... We're working with the fans toward the ongoing entertainment value of the product."The Crash Course DLC pack will be free for PC players but set Xbox 360 owners back 560 Microsoft Points when it arrives on both platforms in September - but don't forget yesterday's update in your excitement.
