Now Playing (4/08/09)
Welcome to the latest instalment of Now Playing, where each week, Games On Net attempts to introduce our beloved readers to a seemingly random selection of trailers that have been added to the mirror on the past week.

Today, we begin by rising towards a musical trailer of sorts, relishing its general peace before being subjected to chaos and agony thanks to some rather energetic rabbits, that somehow find their way into deadly spaces.

After we get back down to Earth, we find ourselves fighting in World War II, once again, but this time, we're killing zombies, and it is best described as "so beautiful!" After we get over the fact that World War II games will be produced perpetually, we decide that we should hang out with some twisted students as they fight invading demons, which is infinitely more believable than zombies.

Risen

The best kinds of trailers are those that tell you relatively little about the actual game. While many people will disagree with that statement, when you have to actually write about the content contained within many trailers, its pretty easy to get distracted by pretty shiny lights and a catchy soundtrack, as is the case with this trailer from Risen, which features the much lauded (and sometimes hated) symphonic metal band Nightwish

Rabbids Go Home

The Rabbids are insane. I should hate them with every strand of my very existence. They're so annoying, loud, and absurd. But, for some strange, foolish reason, I find myself drawn towards their crazy antics because, frankly, it looks like fun. While being crazy, or disturbing to others isn't really all that fun in real life (what with the actual consequences and guilt) - it looks like it could be fun, especially in this game, with the only goal being to build a pile of rubbish that you can climb to the moon. Are you watching how the unscientific do it, NASA?

Dead Space: Extraction

While you wouldn't expect the Rabbids from the previous video to actual make it into the far reaches of outer space, we regret to inform you that they did. There, they became twisted and horrible beings who only wished to feast upon human flesh. The only way to save humanity from the threat is to exterminate them in an on-rails shooter by waggling a Wii-mote around in a crazy manner. May the gods have mercy on your soul, Mr. Exterminator, and good hunting.

Call of Duty: World at War

You know what must always accompany the act of shooting zombies? Horrible juxtaposition. Who ever thought it would be a great idea to juxtapose a song with lines such as "Its so beautiful" with zombie blood being spattered everywhere should be put in a dark cell and be exposed to zombies. That is, until the actual trailer ends - and then they should get a medal pinned to their undead corpse. If you don't quite understand what I'm babbling about, envision a very large explosion. In any case, you'll understand what I'm prattling on about after you've seen the trailer. Hopefully. Maybe.

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona

Japanese RPGs rarely have interesting trailers. Sure, they're pretty, but they don't usually say all that much about the game. This new trailer from Shin Megami Tensei: Persona, while focusing on the North American release of the game, has a bunch of information about the title that will inform and most likely convince some people to buy the game (or, at least, import it) when it is released for English speaking audiences. Watch the trailer if you're a J-RPG fan, otherwise skip down to the stuff that didn't make the cut.

Didn't Make the Cut
Each week, many trailers are released. So many, in fact, that even the mind-bogglingly twisted grey-matter behind Now Playing cannot find the time to watch every single trailer and provide insightful (or, sometimes, worthless) commentary on each video to grace the file library.

Such trailers end up in the bin Didn't Make the Cut segment of Now Playing, where those with aeons of time can sit and watch trailers as they slowly turn into dust. This week doesn't involve any particular trailer that stands out from the bunch as being excessively bad, but you're sure to find many trailers that you could label as such if you look hard enough.
