F.E.A.R. 2 gets Reborn with new DLC
If your life's been a little scare-free of late, better enjoy it while it lasts - Monolith have just announced they're releasing a new, free multiplayer mode for F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin in their next batch of DLC, due in early September.

The new pack - F.E.A.R. 2: Reborn - will feature four all-new singleplayer missions which will expand the experience from an all-new viewpoint. These new levels come with a simultaneous, automatic title update, which introduces a free Slow-Mo Deathmatch multiplayer mode that you can use with all multiplayer content for F.E.A.R. 2.

A demo showing off the new Reborn content will be released on August 28th, but we've got a new video to give you a sneaky peek right now.

  • Four All New Levels: Face the chaos of Alma’s aftermath from an entirely new point of view: that of Replica Soldier Foxtrot813. As gamers begin the mission as part of an orbital Powered Armor drop to reinforce their squad, the ruined city of Auburn emanates supernatural events and familiar voices, beckoning Foxtrot813 to go against orders from Replica command. Be careful, not everything is as it seems...

  • Slow-Mo Deathmatch: Through a free title update, gamers obtain a slow-mo powerup to slow down enemies in multiplayer deathmatch, thus gaining a distinct short-term advantage. The longer players hold onto the slow-mo powerup, the more objective points are accumulated, contributing to the overall score. Watch out though, whoever has slow-mo ability becomes a bigger target to everyone else!

Console gamers, you get a bonus opportunity - launching August 13th is a shiny new F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin premium theme and picture pack for the Xbox 360, as well as a new theme for the PS3.

F.E.A.R. 2: Reborn is the third DLC pack produced for F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin, and will be available for Xbox 360 and PS3 on September 4th, with a PC release not too far away. It follows in the footsteps of Toy Soldiers which launched April 16th, and Armored Front, which arrived in late May.
