Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City arrives in October

Last week, we told you a bit about the latest addition to the Grand Theft Auto family, Episodes from Liberty City, but at the time we didn't know too much about the release date or price structure for either the standalone title or the next downloadable release - The Ballad of Gay Tony.

Today, we ask you all to mark in your calendars October 29th, which is when Episodes will be arriving in-store, and also (coincidentally enough) when The Ballad of Gay Tony will land on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

To recap what the deal is, Episodes from Liberty City is a completely standalone release from the guys at Rockstar Games - you don't need either a copy of Grand Theft Auto IV or an Xbox Live account to play. It contains both the critically-acclaimed smash hit The Lost and Damned, released earlier this year, as well as the upcoming Ballad of Gay Tony.

You'll need to fork out $69.95 if you want to pick up the disks in either Australia or New Zealand, and we hear that the downloadable version of Gay Tony will be 1600 MS Points. Remember, this is all part of that platform exclusivity thing, which means if you want to check it out, you'll need to have an Xbox 360.

The Lost and Damned

Set against GTA IV's iconic and beautifully rendered homage to New York, Liberty City, Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned is the first of two downloadable episodes that fit seamlessly alongside the larger Grand Theft Auto IV storyline. In addition to delivering an all-new story and a new protagonist - Johnny Klebitz, Vice President of The Lost biker gang - The Lost and Damned features its own, all-new enhanced soundtrack that reflects the episode's story.
The Ballad of Gay Tony

Grand Theft Auto’s second downloadable episode, "The Ballad of Gay Tony" injects Liberty City with an overdose of guns, glitz, and grime. As Luis Lopez, part-time hoodlum and full-time assistant to legendary nightclub impresario Tony Prince (aka “Gay Tony”), you will struggle with the competing loyalties of family and friends, and with the uncertainty about who is real and who is fake in a world in which everyone has a price.
