Not content with one or two collector's editions, Infinity Ward are keen to to show off three different versions of the game. They're so excited, in fact, about what the fancy, "prestige" edition will offer gamers that they've made a video showing us everything that can be found in the box.
First, there's the regular version of the game, which includes a manual, the game, and nothing too special. Next, there's the "Hardened Edition", which comes in a limited edition steel-book case, and an art book, along with a token to download the original Call of Duty on the Xbox LIVE Arcade or the PlayStation Network.
Finally, the "best" version of the game, the so called "Prestige Edition", contains night vision goggles and a Soap McTavish sculpted head, that can be used to show off the night vision goggles to all your admiring friends and family.
Don't believe us? Watch the video.
The "Prestige Edition" has been priced at US$150, and the night vision goggles, while advertised as "fully functioning", are probably a simple infra-red camera and light amplification device that doesn't really cost all that much to produce.
While the night vision goggles are a novelty, here at Games On Net, we still believe that the World in Conflict collector's edition is nicer, as a chunk of the Berlin Wall is much nicer than any night vision goggles.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is due for release on the 10th of November this year, and will be available for the PC, PlayStation 3, and the Xbox 360.
