With the retail release of ArmA II still scheduled for the 16th of July in Australia (the game is currently available on Steam if you can't wait) 505 Games and Bohemia Interactive have released a developer diary that shows off some of the basic features of the game.
Focusing on simulation, the game contains realistic ballistics, and the features that are not common to other first person shooters. Players have the ability to look around in several directions while moving in another, the ability to roll, and do other tasks that are typically less complex in other firs person shooters.
The developer diary promises to cover "basic controls", but there's a bunch of stuff mentioned that will probably make those new to the game approach the battlefield in a new and different way.

This video is the first in a series of diaries that Bohemia Interactive plan to release, each which will introduce players to new features or common functions that need to be understood in order to be successful in ArmA II. The full game will invade retail stores on the 16th of July in Australia, and is currently available on Steam for those that cannot wait to grab it at retail.
