Only a few days ago Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires hit shelves to the delight of mildly compulsive hack-and-slashers everywhere. Although the amount of content to be explored and unlocked is vast, it is within the realms of possibility that somebody, somewhere has already completed every possible scenario, discovered everything, and has nursed their flaring RSI back to the point where they begin pining for more content. Well, yay you! There's a downloadable content pack on its way!

The pack will be made available as a free download for both Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Details of the contents are sketchy, but it appears that this first pack will include new options for customising edit mode characters - practically a necessity with one hundred custom character slots to fill, and a prompt response to complaints of an unfortunate lack of options in this mode.

Yes, the word "first" there was cleverly inserted to imply "second"; KOEI have confirmed that the future holds at least one more round of DLC, possibly of music. Since the game already features every track from the series so far, we can only speculate on what else is to come - more remixes, or perhaps a few tunes from sister series Samurai Warriors?

The best news of all is that both DLC packs will be completely free (something KOEI seem to be quite keen on lately. While Australian dates have not been confirmed, I expect them to mirror the US release - the new content will roll onto the Xbox LIVE Arcade on Thursday, and hit the Playstation network the following week (the ninth) with future packs to be released on both systems simultaneously.
