StarCraft II Battle Report 3 takes it to the Scrapyard
It was leaked over the weekend, but we can now confirm that Blizzard have officially released Battle Report 3 for StarCraft II.

Set on new map Scrapyard, watch as the Protoss (represented by David Kim - StarCraft II associate game balance designer) take on the Zerg (Blizzard's Yeon-Ho Lee) in a 17-minute squabble narrated by Dustin Browder and Robert Simpson.

The game is "currently in the alpha phase" of development, according to the devs - but it's worth noting that what we're seeing in the video is not the most recent version of the game.

Now, as we reported back in February, the artists have been hard at work totally re-vamping the graphic style of the game. Because of this, you can see that this Battle Report was filmed before they were finished - the devs are still playing with older versions of objects. Disruptors are still referred to as "Nullifiers", the Spawning Pool is using older skins, and the old Infestors are also clearly shown. It seems that this is a more recent build of the game than the one we saw in Battle Report 2, but there have still been a bunch of changes since then.

We're also hearing reports that Korean gaming websites are getting their lucky mitts on early Beta codes for the game... while we can't confirm this, and we haven't seen ours yet, it seems a good time to remind you to opt in now for your chance to play StarCraft II before it's finished!

With just two months to go before BlizzCon is held in Anaheim, I wonder if we'll see any more details released, or if they'll just bombard us with it all at the event... more and more signs are pointing to the game being released this year - fingers crossed we get confirmation of that sooner rather than later, so people can start saving up for Christmas!
