Last year's RSI has just started to settle down, and now we're only a few days from the release of Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires. Apparently KOEI weren't satisfied with the havoc they caused by sending us one hundred and eleven screenshots last week, and are still trying to fill up our mirror, delivering three new trailers, as well. It's quite a nice little trilogy, giving us a good look at the edit mode, demonstrating some new gameplay features, and featuring the return of the king - the mighty Meng Huo!

If everyone agrees that the whole Warriors franchise is just about the fun to be had as one against a thousand, then I think the muppet-voiced Meng Huo demonstrated that quite succinctly in his return to the series after being conspicuously absent from Dynasty Warriors 6. Another point of interest for fans of the series is the command ring in the lower right corner of the HUD, which appears to be a method of triggering a range of different special attacks, rather than being restricted to the character's single ability, as in the game's forerunner. The ability to change weapon types between the three different configurations is also in evidence, thankfully.

The other new trailers are also available on the mirror; both demonstrate the create-a-character edit mode, which appears to be the most robust and flexible so far in the franchise. You can get a taste for some of the amusing configurations of excess that are available for both genders in the male and female versions.

Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires is expected to release on Thursday on both Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
