America's Army dev team goes AWOL?

Most people would probably think that launching the latest version of your game would be a reason to celebrate - but the Californian studio who worked on America's Army 3 are doing just the opposite.

Just one day after the game's release, the US Army has apparently chosen to close down the primary development studio in Emeryville, with all further development to take place in Redstone, Alabama.

It is not currently known how many people will be impacted by the move, which is apparently in order to "consolidate development" on the game.

We are waiting to hear back from the US Army, but a representative for the game has gone on the record over at Shacknews explaining that:
"This consolidation will allow us to gain efficiencies between our public and government applications. We appreciate all the hard work that every member of the America's Army team has contributed to the project, and we look forward to delivering future America's Army game releases in the months ahead."
This is the latest in a series of dramas for the game, with many people reporting problems connecting, authorising and playing America's Army 3 following yesterday's launch.
