If that doesn't work, there is always escape, with Smugglers experienced in evading those would prefer to see them dead. In a pinch however, Smugglers prove to be deadly in combat.
Other attributes the Smuggler possess are control over their own actions - if they don't like the conditions a client requests, they won't take the job. If they don't like the client, they won't do the job.
Smugglers tend to align themselves with the Republic, due to the promise of freedom, but many do know that their actions aren't always the best for the plight of the republic.

In any case, the Smuggler is able to adapt to any situation, and always appears to be confident, in combat, in negotiating with clients, and while they're on the job. Smugglers wear "comfortable, flexible clothing", allowing them to be quick.
Their choice of weapons usually is one or two blasters, which they wield with style in battle, where they rely on the element of surprise. They generally shoot first, and remain standing where their enemies fall. They're balanced fighters, but when catching others off guard are devastating.
More information on the Smuggler playable class can be found on the official website. While no release date has been revealed for Star Wars: The Old Republic - we've got a bunch of trailers and screenshots that you can look over while you impatiently wait for the game to release.
