[E3 2009] Games On Net goes to E3: Splinter Cell: Conviction Interview
By Jessica Citizen - Fri Jun 5, 2009 4:19pm
While the rest of us are stuck at home, experiencing E3 only through the wonders of the internets, Bennett Ring and a Games On Net camera crew are stationed in LA, checking out all of the goodies first hand.
Showcased at the Ubisoft Press Conference early in the piece was Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction, which is nearing completion after a long development period. Alexandre Parizeau, Producer on the game, and Andreane Meunier, the Production Manager were hanging around the Ubisoft booth, and were more than happy to answer some questions for those of us stuck at home, filling us in on the storyline, showing off some of the great gameplay contextual attacks, talking more about Mark and Execute, and explaining why the game was so very long in development.

If you cast your mind way back to 2006, the first time we heard about Splinter Cell: Conviction was when it was included in a whole bunch of information, files and assets that were leaked from a Ubisoft FTP. Also included in that leak were glimpses at Assassin's Creed, Far Cry 2, Shaun White Snowboarding and Lost, all of which have been on shelves for a long time. In fact, Splinter Cell: Conviction was originally scheduled for release in 2007, before the developers decided to take it back to basics and re-vamp the project. They're nearly finished now though, and it looks like we'll be finally getting our hands on the latest Tom Clancy, in October, 2009.
So - we're getting into the thick of the interview videos now, what do you think? We need your feedback to ensure we're giving you the best product! What do you think about Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction? Does it look like it was worth the wait? Remember, while the videos are free traffic for Internode customers, we do offer a smaller version, for the quota-conscious, shrinking this interview down to a tidy 24MB file, in case 200+MB is too big for you.
