Yesterday, at Microsoft's E3 press conference, a title called Shadow Complex, was announced. The game is from Chair Entertainment and Epic Games, the game will be released through the Xbox LIVE Arcade Marketplace, and promises the "next evolution" of games to be delivered through the Arcade platform.

The game is built in the Unreal 3 engine, and is side-scrolling shooter that has "modern, cutting-edge" gameplay that includes fast-paced combat, and exploration, complete with power ups and "an an arsenal of futuristic weapons" to help the player overcome obstacles, and defeat "legions" of enemies.

The game's script is written by Peter David, and is set in the Empire universe first established by novelist Orson Scott Card. The game is in production at Epic Games, who developed Unreal Tournament and Gears of War.

Legendary developers: Shadow Complex is produced by Epic Games, creators of the award-winning Unreal and Gears of War video game franchises and the industry-leading Unreal Engine.

A release date for Shadow Complex has not yet been announced. The game will be available on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, and will presumably sell for 1200 Microsoft Points, unless of course the "next evolution" in Xbox LIVE Arcade games has a price hike associated with it.
