Wolfenstein 3D set to invade consoles
Getting a little anxious waiting for Wolfenstein to arrive in August? You're not alone - id and Activision have decided to do something about it.

Starting this weekend, you'll be able to grab the original Wolfenstein 3D from both Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network. This is the famed title that helped to create an entirely new video game genre, and offers gamers the chance to stroll down Memory Lane as they re-live the intensity of escaping from Castle Wolfenstein one more time.

This is how games used to be played...

...of course, if there's anyone out there who hasn't yet played this classic, now's your chance! Take on fantastic enemies like Hans Grosse and the infamous Mecha-Hitler as you take part in the game's 60 levels.

It's not just a warmup, either. Taking the challenge to beat up this twisted Nazi regime will not only re-spark your memories, but will also earn accolades and gold! You can then use these to pick up customisable weapon upgrades in the all new, next-gen Wolfenstein, due to arrive in Australia in August for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Pricing hasn't been discussed yet, but the original Wolfenstein 3D will be added to Xbox Live Arcade on June 3rd in the US, and the PSN version follows a day later, so you can expect to be playing both versions early next week.
