[E3 2009] Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising - the E3 trailer has arrived!
With E3 fast approaching, in the coming days you can expect to see a lot of trailers from upcoming games hit the mirror. One of the latest of these is from the upcoming military "sim" Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising.

The Operation Flashpoint E3 2009 is one of these, showing off in-game footage and some of the toys would-be-soldiers will get to play with when the game finally releases in September this year. While it doesn't reveal much new about the game, the trailer is sure to make those waiting for the game happy.

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is set on a fictional Pacific Island called Skira, where gamers must "overcome the deadly Chinese People's Liberation Army" who have claimed ownership of the oil-rich island. With resources scarce and Uncle Sam not wanting things to escalate, a team of US Marine Corp operatives are sent in douse the conflict, attempting to prevent the spread of conflict.

Promising to enter gamers into a "chillingly realistic conflict" (where have we heard that before?, I wonder), gamers will be constantly assailed by the threat of impending death, as in the world of Operation Flashpoint, a single bullet can take a life.

This means that tactics are important, as Sion Lenton, Executive Producer, at Codemasters explains:
Tactics are everything in Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. If players charge in Rambo-style, as in some first-person shooters, it will be game over, very quickly. We empower players to approach things differently and use every available tactic and resource to achieve their objectives.
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising will be released in Spring this year (hopefully around September) and will be available on the PC, PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. For more information about the game, check out our previous news coverage.
