Dark Void developer diary takes the first steps out of the void
We first heard about Dark Void at the 2008 E3 Media & Business Summit. Since then, Capcom have released a flurry of information regarding their unique blend of aerial and "on foot" combat, including the tasty morsel back in April that composer Bear McCreary (of Battlestar Galactica soundtrack fame) would be handling the audio.

Today, we've gotten our hands on a new developer diary that discusses some of the design mentality of the game in realative depth, along with remarks from Keiji Inafune, Capcom head of Research and Development.

Dark Void sees players assume the role of "Will", a pilot who crash lands on a routine flight and finds himself trapped within the Void, where a mysterious alien race resides, threatening Earth. Inside the Void, Will joins the survivors in a bid to prevent the race from invading and having their own way with the inhabitants of Earth.

The game features vertical combat, allowing the player to use cover mechanics, aerial combat techniques and a number of weapons to help in the fight against the alien race.

The game will be available on the PC, PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. A Release date has not yet been confirmed.
