New Heavy Rain screenshots emerge
Sony and Quantic Dream have released a bunch of new screenshots for Heavy Rain, which is due on the PlayStation 3 at some point in the future.

Heavy Rain is a game that places the player in control of four central characters, with the consequences of each player's actions affecting the way in which the plot advances. The "game" isn't so much a "game" as it is an "interactive film", which will play out just like the previous effort from Quantic Dream, Fahrenheit. (Also known as Indigo Prophecy)

While the new screenshots do not reveal all that much regarding the game's plot (which still remains a very closely guarded secret), it is known that Heavy Rain will explore a plot revolving around The "Oragami Killer", who leaves tiny Oragami sculptures near (or on) his victim's bodies.

The game is expected to have around ten hours of non-linear gameplay, which is viewed from the perspective of four different characters. Branching story lines will introduce much re-playability, and the game will have a different outcome should a certain character (or characters) under the player's control dies. This will not spell the end of the game, merely a perspective of the story that does not continue.

More new screenshots are available on the mirror.

No release date has yet been confirmed for Heavy Rain. The game will be available exclusively on the PlayStation 3, and is likely to be one of the finer games released this generation, given the quality of the previous Quantic Dream project, Indigo Prophecy.
