For those that have been wanting to pick up an Xbox 360, but have felt that the packages available at retailers are a little bit lacking, Microsoft have announced a new deal for those looking to pick up an Xbox 360 Elite console.

Starting on the 28th of May, at select retailers, a "Game of the Year" bundle including Halo 3, and Fable II, along with a Xbox 360 Elite, will be available for the recommended retail price of just the console, effectively giving new Xbox 360 owners two games for free.

The Xbox 360 Elite has a number of benefits of the Standard and Arcade variants of the Xbox 360 console. This includes the largest amount of storage, 120GB, a HDMI cable, a headset, and of course the ability to play any Xbox 360 title released.

It seems like a good deal for those who don't yet already own an Xbox 360. With a vast library of games, the Xbox 360 is a good choice as any for those wanting to enter the console market for the very first time. For those that picked up an Xbox 360 Elite last week, you can start kicking yourselves now.

The package will be available for AU$549 from "select retailers". This probably means every gaming emporium known to man, with multiple chains, in Australia should start advertising this deal soon.
