Here we are, in another week of May. Swine flu has attempted to ravage the world, the Australian federal budget is due to unfurl its claws from within Parliament House, and video game developers have continued releasing countless trailers for games. Instead of sifting through the great oceans of video yourself, the fine folk here at Games On Net, sift through them for you, bringing you the files, along with the banter of one embittered newsbot, each and every Tuesday.

This week, we first journey to blooded, violent lands of the past filled with happy Dragons, before plummeting towards a Fallen Earth where we attempt to speed towards our next racing fix. We then journey to a galaxy far, far away to learn about some diverse worlds. Finally, take a few moments to defend our dungeon from pesky heroes.

Dragon Age: Origins

Dragon Age: Origins. Those who consider themselves fans of the RPG genre should know that this is one of the most highly anticipated games that will see release this year. As long-time Bioware fans will know, the early titles released by the company were dark, gritty, and serious explorations of all the facets of historical fantasy worlds. It appears that Dragon Age: Origins, in this case proves to be worthy of the violence of its successors, as illustrated by this visceral new trailer. It should be noted that the trailer is set to the tune of Marilyn Manson's This is the new "censored" (don't kill me, proposed Government Internet filter!), so if the language (and violence) is likely to offend those around you, I suggest that you skip to the next video, as the trailer itself contains violence with far more impact than a two syllable word.

Fallen Earth

The apocalypse, and the death of all humanity is all too often a pre-cursor to games. While we've heard a bit about Fallen Earth, a post-apocalyptic MMO set after (and before, and while) a nuclear war - we haven't really seen all that much to truly tease us about the game. Enter this radioactive new trailer, which depicts the factions to be featured in the game, and is narrated in the typical "I am a girl from the future and possibly a computer system" that is typical of science fiction and dystopian tales.

FUEL

"And I wasted all my time just waiting..." sums up the feeling many people get from lots of games when they're eventually released. FUEL on the other hand is a little more ambitious in its promotion of itself, with the trailer set to some potentially hypocritical music. In the mean time, the trailer does unveil many of the gameplay modes that will be available to would-be-racers, who look like they have some fairly large environments to race through in a bid to acquire more of the lucrative stuff otherwise known as FUEL to keep their thirsty racing machines going.

Star Wars: The Old Republic

Star Wars. Games. MMO. License to print money? Possibly. But Bioware got their hands on it, which means the game will be awesome, even if it is highly likely that the game will have a subscription fee. The trailer below shows off several of the planets to be featured, accompanied by remarks from the development team. The game looks pretty, as does the concept art, and is one that will be looked upon by many with great interest.

Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman: What Did I Do to Deserve This?

Ever wished that instead of having to ride a bus or train everyday to work, uni, school, or wherever else public transport travelled that you could instead be in charge of a dungeon, and be charged with defending your vulnerable self from pesky humans who would rather see peace and justice within the world? Gods of destruction will be well versed in the fact that their dungeon is their place, and anyone who dares enter will be destroyed by their minions. In order for their minions, however, to grow powerful and flourish, a mastery of the ecology of dungeons is needed, which is exactly what Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman: What Did I Do to Deserve This? focuses on. Make a dungeon, make sure the critters within can reproduce to continue protecting you through your dormant sleepy years, then... one day, one day you can emerge to take over the world, or destroy it, or whatever.

Didn't Make the Cut
While there are literally hundreds of trailers released for games each week, some simply don't make the cut, or try so hard to be good, that I like to make it an effort for those who really want to see them.

This week's pick is the Fallen Earth Gameplay Trailer, a second trailer from a game that is featured just above. The trailer takes a different perspective from the teaser, instead depicting game play environments and featuring a commentary from what appears to be a wise, elderly individual who understands just how the fallen world works. It is interesting, and should be seen by all who are interested in the game.

If that's not to your tastes, you can always check out some of the finely crafted, hand picked trailers listed below.
