The reason for NCsoft's stellar performance is due to an increase in margins, of which Aion - Tower of Eternity contributed some US$107.7 million. 34% of its sales were for Aion - Tower of Eternity, with other major titles such as Lineage series, and City of Heroes also contributing to the success of the company.
Lineage II gave the company 33% of its business, while Lineage, the first game of the series contributed 23% of the profits.
Other titles contributed less, with City of Heroes giving the company 5% of its business, and the Guild Wars series contributing a measly 3%.
The year for NCsoft could turn sour, with Richard Garriot, creator of the Ultima series, and Tabula Rasa requesting some US$27 million in damages following his "involuntary" departure from the company.
The company plans to bring Aion - Tower of Eternity to other regions later this year, with a planned release for China, Europe, North America, Japan, and Taiwan.
