The latest premium Neverwinter Nights 2 update, the so-called "adventure pack" Mysteries of Westgate has just been released, and to mark this celebration of all things Forgotten Realms, and the murky underworld of the city of Westgate itself, we have a brand new collection of screenshots from the expansion to tempt you back to Faerûn one more time.

Neverwinter Nights 2 is getting on a bit now, but with almost two and a half years under its belt it still has a devoted fanbase, as our own contingency will tell you. It's good to see Atari continuing support and content for the favourite title, which explores the long established fantasy world known by its Advanced Dungeons and Dragons campaign setting sobriquet, Forgotten Realms. With over fifty novels to its name, a staggering list of video game adaptations, not to mention numerous AD&D source books and the title of most played campaign setting, Forgotten Realms is a world ripe for exploration in multiplayer format, something Mysteries of Westgate continues to capitalise on. If you've never experienced Neverwinter Nights 2, you are missing out on joining the three million or so who have, and the ongoing series of updates such as Mysteries of Westgate and the five thousand user-generated modules freely available should help convince you that this just slightly venerable title is worth your time should you be able to pick it up.

You can see the rest of the new screenshots on the mirror. Neverwinter Nights 2: Mysteries of Westgate has been released via Atari's digital distribution service for €9.99 (about twenty bucks, currently) and requires the full version of the original Neverwinter Nights 2.
