World of Warcraft patched to 3.1.1a

It's Tuesday, well technically Wednesday in Australia and that means routine downtime for World of Warcraft. Yea, yea, you knew all about that already. Still today, there's a tiny patch fixing some minor issues which allows us the opportunity to mention a few other WoW related topics. So let's get down to business while you push Patch 3.1.1a which fixes minor bugs from the last patch that was supposed to fix bugs brought from all the Patch 3.1.0 bedlam. If you insist download the US/AUS 3.1.1-3.1.1a Patch from Games on Net - we've also got it in a variety of different and colorful languages (and a couple of Mac versions, too!).
First and most importantly, please stop camping the damn three eggs spawn location in Mulgore. Yes, we're all working on our Noble Garden achievements and everywhere but Brill and Azure Watch is feeling a bit cramped. Fine, Fine... There's some real news regarding Hero classes, old world content updates, and someone special is making a splash come Patch 3.3.

Enough of this patch nonsense!
In a recent university event Lead WoW Systems Designer Greg "Ghostcrawler" Street divulged the following tidbits:

There was a bit more from Ghostcrawler regarding what level Hero Classes start out at. His personal opinion on Death Knights starting out at level 55 wasn't very favorable but more split down the middle. This doesn't bode well for other Hero Classes starting out at a higher level since he is a Lead Designer with a lot of clout. If the developers actually revamp some old world zones in the expansion or use the Phasing technology to recycle older zones and direct and perhaps use as a starting point for other Hero Classes a lower level or prowess would make the experience more bearable. On the other hand developers want their players to have fun and starting out at a lower level with a loin cloth is not fun when you've already been through it multiple times.
- Players shouldn't expect a hero class in every expansion.
- Sindragosa will play a role in Patch 3.3. For the non-lore nerds Sindragosa took part in a battle between Neltharion and lost. In an attempt to reach Dragonblight to die in peace her wings gave out and she plummeted to Icecrown. Given the lore rumors insist Sindragosa will be a raid boss within Icecrown Citadel.
- Some old world zones may be updated and boy do they sure as hell need it. the three listed off the top of his head: Darkshore, Stonetalon Mountains, and the Barrens.
- Expansions ship when ready, which means nice long 18 to 24 month development cycles. There's no end to Wrath of the Lich King anytime soon!
- Fun WoW fact of the day: Ghostcrawler is largely responsible for the varieties of fish in the game. It's plausible his PhD in Marine Science played a helping hand in that area of game design
