Square Enix, who will shortly complete their acquisition of UK based publisher, Eidos may not have had just the Tomb Raider and Hitman franchises in mind when they committed to the purchase of the publisher.

The long dormant Thief franchise could be set to make a reappearance in the near future, following the appearance of an obscure teaser on the website of Eidos Montreal, the studio currently developing Deus Ex 3.

The offending teaser, reads simply "Eidos Montreal's Second Project To be Revealed Soon" - nothing revealing, right? However, the font used, is alleged to be very similar to the font used in previously released Thief games.

In addition, the studio currently has a number of positions currently vacant, with roles such as Lead Programmer, Lead Game Designer, Art Director and a vast number of other integral roles to the game development process all available.

While this suggests very little in the way of what is actually going on within the halls of Eidos Montreal - it wouldn't be a strange proposition to see Square Enix attempt to bring back the much loved, dormant properties that are held by Eidos.

We'll bring you more information as we learn more. If any announcement is likely to eventuate, the 21st of April, when Square Enix complete their acquisition, is likely to be the date when the company announces any future plans.
