Once a user accumulates a certain amount of Stars - they are able to redeem them for exclusive Nintendo merchandise. At the moment, players are able to choose from five exclusive items, which include a Wii Remote Stand, a Mario Print Face Towel, a variety of DS cases, and an exclusive Game & Watch Collection for the Nintendo DS. The price of objects in the catalogue vary from 1000 Stars to 2500 stars.
As an incentive, people who register will receive 250 Stars free. A small disclaimer on the website reveals that Wii Fit registration and completion of a survey will give a user 350 Stars, while games with a suggested retail price of AU$99.95 will attract 250 stars, games priced at AU$79.95 will be worth 200 Stars, and games at $AU49.95 and less will see the addition of 150 Stars.
Exclusive Nintendo Club codes will only be available in "select" titles, with many of these likely to be first-party Nintendo games. Users who sign up for the Club will also be able to enter exclusive "members only" competitions, access "hints and tips" and get all the news regarding new Nintendo products straight from the company.
In addition, users will be given extra stars on special events, such as their birthday. If you'd like to sign up - check out the website. To see the items that are currently available for members, have a look at the Stars Catalogue. Products from the Stars Catalogue will begin shipping out at the start of April.
