New screens for Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce as release day approaches
In the current atmosphere of renewed interest in the PSP, it's nice to be able to cover games that have been crafted specifically with the console in mind, rather than dodgy ports that would be better enjoyed in their original format. Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce is not the first of the series to make be a PSP-exclusive, but KOEI are clearly bringing their experience from the last few titles to bear on this latest entry into the popular franchise, and it certainly shows in these new screens.

To recap, Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce takes the characters and expanded move sets of Dynasty Warriors 6 but runs the gameplay through a plethora of changes. Characters now have the ability to morph into an over-powered Super Saiyan-style version, complete with Hong Kong action film-inspired aerial moves. Levels will include colossal boss characters and take place in more varied are well-conceived of locations, for example on a full size ship rather than on a series of boats that function merely as platforms.

The most exciting new feature is the ability to link up to four PSPs together to form the titular strike force to engage in raids against bosses or locations, the first real departure from the "one against thousands" feel of previous titles. Perfect for linking up with a few mates in transit, Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce releases exclusively on PSP next month. More screens and trailers on the mirror.
