Due to some technical issues in regards to Steam, it turns out that not many users were able to actually download and play Unreal Tournament 3 during the course of the free-weekend. This, in turn made Epic and Valve frustrated and angry, which has led to a two-fold announcement.
1. There will be a (new!) free weekend with the ability to pre-load the Unreal Tournament 3 content.
2. The bargain price of US$11.99 for UT3 on Steam will remain in place until the 22nd of March.
Since the Titan Pack has been released, the Unreal Tournament 3 master servers have displayed a 2,000% increase in simultaneous player numbers, which were also fuelled by the previous week-end. If you'd like to give the game a go you can find details allowing you to pre load the game for the upcoming free weekend on the Unreal Tournament 3 Steam game page.
