Earlier this year, we brought you word that Electronic Arts would be moving the Dead Space franchise to the Nintendo Wii, in the form of Dead Space: Extraction - a new title built from the ground up for the Wii platform.
The game, which will be a prequel, has had a number of new details revealed by Glen Schofield, Vice President and General Manager of the EA Redwood Shores studio during a recent interview. Schofield has revealed that the game will take place three weeks before the events on the ISS Ishimura.

More screenshots from Dead Space can be found on the mirror.
The game will not feature Issac Clarke at all, with players instead taking on the role of a "couple of characters". The flame-thrower will migrate to the Nintendo Wii, along with some of the game's other weapons, but any details regarding new weapons for the Wii version were very brief. It is anticipated that there will be new weapons, but Schofield was tight-lipped.
When queried regarding a sequel for Dead Space, Schofield stated that he hoped there would be the opportunity to produce one in the future, as the studio has "enough story to tell", that it can't possibly be all included in Dead Space: Extraction.
While details are still fairly scarce regarding Dead Space: Extraction, as we learn more we will keep you informed. Dead Space: Extraction will be exclusive to the Nintendo Wii, and will be available later this year.
