With support for MotionPlus, each title will give the gamer unprecedented control over their completely-customisable players as they swing about their arms in a joyous manner across sun-baked golf courses and even the esteemed Centre Court of Wimbledon.
No release date for either title has yet been announced (other than "Summer" for audiences in the Northern Hemisphere, which means we can probably expect the games in the Australian Winter). Peter Moore, President of EA Sports is excited about the improved Wii functionality offered by Wii MotionPlus:
On the Wii, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 and EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis bring the authentic motion and excitement of championship golf and tennis to life for fans of all ages and skill levels.EA's move to place more focus on the Nintendo Wii as an important platform will see EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis launch first on the platform, with players given the ability to play through all four Grand Slam tennis events with their customised characters. The game alleges that it will make "you feel like you are playing with and against the sport's greatest legends".
With the new Wii MotionPlus, slicing a winner on Centre Court at Wimbledon or dropping an 8 iron pin high on No. 17 at TPC Sawgrass have never felt better. We couldn’t be more excited about the dynamic new EA SPORTS experiences coming this year to the Wii.
Meanwhile, Tiger Woods PGA Tour '10 will allow gamers to experience "a near-perfect 1:1 swing", allowing them the utmost control all the way from tee to the final hole of a PGA Tour tournament. The "intensity and excitement" of "every swing" will bring to life the "drama" of real-world golf.
EA's new found focus on the Nintendo Wii follows the CEO of the company, John Riccitiello outlining the platform's strength due to a large install-base world wide in a recent conference call to investors.
