Dead Space goes back to its roots with Extraction
You haven't heard the last of Isaac Clarke - or should that be, you haven't heard the "first" of him? The studio that brought you last year's outer-space shooter Dead Space is now hard at work on a prequel to the game, built from the ground up and designed exclusively for the Wii.

The backstory will be combined with the innovative, motion-sensing controls of the Wii and a new first-person perspective, in order to create a frenetic, action-packed horror experience in the freshly announced Dead Space Extraction. If you ever wondered about the events that lead up to Isaac's mission on the USG Ishimura in the original Dead Space, now's your chance - and we've got the trailer to show you.

Glen Schofield, VP and General Manager of EA Redwood Shores studio explains:
"We could not be more excited to extend Dead Space into an experience exclusive to the Wii. Nintendo has a wonderful history in the horror genre and we are thrilled to build on that tradition with Dead Space Extraction. As we were developing Dead Space, we realized that there was so much of the story going untold. Dead Space Extraction tells that story with all of the intensity, blood and gore that fans would expect."
Telling the story of a handful of space colonists, struggling desperately against a horrific infection that has swept the Aegist VII mining colony (tucked away somewhere in the dim recesses of space), Dead Space Extraction introduces a new heroine to the universe. As a mysterious contagion overtakes the ship, it quickly becomes apparent that protecting her may be the colony's only hope for survival.

Step onto the ship, stocked with all-new weapons, enemies, puzzles, characters and opportunities for co-op multiplayer gameplay, in Dead Space Extraction. The game's currently being developed, with all signs pointing to a release by the end of the year, in the Australian spring.
