Konami have announced that they are currently working on the next expansion pack to Metal Gear Online, which will be entitled SCENE. While only the preliminary plans for the pack have been released at this stage, Konami is due to reward those who pre-order the SCENE expansion through their online store with a hilarious piece of head gear for the solider.
Known as the "cardboard man" - essentially a classic cardboard box that one places on their head, obscuring pimples, unsightly scars gained from combat, or as Konami suggest, "ample cover for any bad hair day". We've got some first-details regarding the actual content of the SCENE expansion, which includes some screenshots of new maps and the announcement that Raiden and Vamp will be added as playable characters.
The first of the new maps that will be added is called Outer Outlet, which is set within a commercial area. It will feature a variety of "buildings and subterranean areas", with a focus on "medium to long range" battles.

The second new map is Hazard House, which is set in a mansion reminiscent of that appearing in Act II of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Featuring a lot of hallways, doors, and everything else you'd expect of a finely appointed mansion, Hazard House will focus on fast, close range combat.

The third and final map, Ravaged Riverfront will see the conflict of Metal Gear Online spill into the streets of Eastern Europe, where the picturesque, cobblestone streets and medieval architecture of Act III will take centre stage, across a series of underground and underwater areas. A clock tower will also feature, making the map perfect for those wanting to sit atop a vantage point and pick away their foes.

The SCENE expansion pack will also introduce the enigmatic Vamp as a playable character, who will be able to use knives expertly in close combat. Meanwhile, the protagonist of the second title in the Metal Gear series, Raiden will be available in multiplayer, who will display impressive speed. More details regarding specific skills for each of the newly added characters is yet to be announced.
No details on pricing or availability for the SCENE expansion has yet been announced. If Konami's previous bouts of downloadable content for Metal Gear Online are anything to go by - it can be expected that they will make available a package that includes the previous MEME and GENE expansions along with the new SCENE expansion when it is released.
