FUEL - Open world racing from Codemasters gets a new trailer
To follow on with the racing theme today, Codemasters have released a new trailer from their upcoming open-world, open-road racer FUEL. Following their recent trend of four-letter racing titles (which began with DiRT, then proceeded to become GRID), FUEL moves the racing action to a world were climate change and a number of other factors have increased the price of oil dramatically.

The result is a "new breed of racing junkies" who, with their home-grown, tuned vehicles race about a number of extreme conditions in order to acquire more fuel to continue racing. The new trailer illustrates a the broad variety of environments that will be present in FUEL.

The gameplay in FUEL will see players travel through a number of environmental hazards and picturesque vistas, which include
... the tsunami-wrecked pacific coast through the Nevada wastelands, including the Grand Canyon, up treacherous snow-capped mountains, thick forests, arid deserts, [and] abandoned lakeside resorts.
FUEL is being developed by Asobo Studios, and will feature a full day and night cycle, in addition to extreme weather conditions such as sandstorms, thunderstorms and blizzards, which will challenge racers as they compete for their ever-so important fuel.

As the trailer suggests, FUEL will be available in May of this year. The game will be available on the PC, PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.
