Last week, we brought you news that the team behind Dystopia, a total conversion mod for Half-Life 2 had announced that the mod would see a release through Steam. Today, we can tell you that the mod is now available through the digital distribution platform - with support for Steamworks included amongst a number of updates that the team have made to the mod.
Dystopia is a futuristic mod that pits Mercenaries and Security forces against one another, with objective based multiplayer gameplay taking place between the two rival factions. The latest version of the mod adds three new maps, fixes over one hundred and eighty bugs, and a bunch of new features. Finally, we've got a trailer and some new screenshots from version 1.2 to share with you.

In addition to all the changes we outlined last week, version 1.2 of Dystopia also sees the mod receive a nice graphical overhaul which can be seen in the collection of new screenshots that are tucked away safely on our file mirror.

More new screenshots can be found on the mirror.
In order to download Dystopia, fire up your Steam client, go to the main store page, hit "Game Mods" underneath the "Free Stuff" heading on the left hand side. On the next page, under the "New Mods" tab, Dystopia will appear. Click on that, then click "Install" on the next page. It is important to note that you will need Half-Life 2 installed in order to play the Dystopia mod.
If you're an Internode customer, and you download the Dystopia files (which weigh in at around 1750MB) from ANY Australian Steam content server, it won't count towards your monthly usage. Due to a handy Steam update that was released last week, you are now able to set your location - which should increase your chances of getting the data from a local server.
