Warner Bros. Interactive acquire Snowblind Studios
Warner Bros. Interactive has announced that they have acquired the Seattle based developer of Justice League Heroes, Snowblind Studios. The company had previously developed Champions of Norrath, a PlayStation 2 hack and slash RPG set within the EverQuest universe, and a console based extension of the Baldur's Gate universe, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance.

The Seattle based Snowblind Studios was founded in 1997, and now joins Monolith Productions and Traveller's Tales at Warner Bros. Interactive, who are developing a strong presence in the video game publishing arena.

Kevin Tsujihara President of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group had the following to say regarding the acquisition:
This is a good fit for Warner Bros. and Snowblind Studios. The arrangement broadens our portfolio with quality games and provides Snowblind with access to our global distribution and publishing capabilities. Snowblind has a great reputation and we are pleased to welcome them into the Warner Bros. family.

It is unclear what project Snowblind Studios will be assigned to, but the studio's website currently indicates that they are developing a multiplayer, fast-paced action game called Death Tank for the Xbox 360. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment President, Martin Tremblay noted that the acquisition would give them a greater presence in the video game industry:
The acquisition of Snowblind is an important milestone for our games business, allowing us to expand our development capabilities even further. We are proud to be associated with such a talented team that is focused on executing innovative and captivating game designs.
Meanwhile, Ryan Geithman the Studio head of Snowblind seems pleased with the deal:
We look forward to working as a part of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on creating several distinctive games with wide appeal. Our team is committed at every level to making the best gaming experience possible for our audiences.
With their previous experience in RPGs and fantasy-based games, Snowblind Studios could potentially allow Warner Bros. Interactive to enter the MMO market. While Geithman's statement in regards creating accessible titles may suggest the contrary, who knows what the future may bring?
