Warner Bros. Interactive and Traveller's Tales have announced a new LEGO video game, to be released on the Nintendo DS platform. Developed by Canadian studio, Hellbent Games, and entitled LEGO Battles, the new game will focus on three iconic LEGO sets - LEGO Castle, LEGO Pirates, and LEGO Space.
Focusing on a "build-and-play" experience, LEGO Battles will bring together the three sets in a humorous and fun way that "stays true" to the experience of previously released LEGO video games such as LEGO Batman: The Videogame and LEGO Star Wars. We've got a bunch of information about LEGO Battles, along with some first-look screenshots.
LEGO Battles will feature six "distinct" story lines, spread out across over seventy different levels. Players will be able to mix and match units from various LEGO sets, allowing them to build a squad comprised of chivalrous knights, scowling pirates, aliens, and even mages, ninjas, dragons and more!

LEGO Battles will be the first in the LEGO series of video games that won't be developed by Traveller's Tales, with Hellbent Games to handle development. Hellbent Games are comprised of old Rockstar staff members, and recently worked on the Xbox 360 adaptation of Supreme Commander.
With space craft and pirate ships alike, LEGO Battles will see people of all ages entertained, as Tom Stone Managing Director of Traveller's Tales Games Publishing explans:
