LittleBigPlanet is no stranger to downloadable content. However, this week we were supposed to see a new batch headed our way. Unfortunately they haven't been able to bring us what they had planned.

But to cheer us up, they have announced some of what can be expected to be seen in the coming weeks and well... it is interesting! From Chinese New Years costumes to God of War stickers to... err.. WipEout costumes?! I can't wait to see some levels using those!

Mark Valledor, Marketing Manager of SCEA announced this on the new content.

We know you guys have been looking forward to the next batch of downloadable content which was due to launch this Thursday, January 22. Unfortunately, we’re not going to be able to release what we had planned at this time, so the wait is going to be just a little longer before the new year’s content updates start to arrive. In order to make up for this disappointment, we thought you might like to see all the new content we’ve got lined up to come out between next week and the end of February, so hold on to your hats as there’s quite a bit!

26th of January
Chinese New Year costumes will be available for 10 days only. We hear they will be available for FREE to help you celebrate the year of the Ox (a good year in my opinion).


29th of January
This week is jam packed with content. A God of War mini pack full of stickers and Medusa and Minotaur costumes is on its way. Also if you missed getting a Kratos costume during pre-order, you will be able to pick him up! There is also a Groundhog Day costume which will be available for one week only to help you predict the length of this winter.


05 February
Why give flowers this Valentine’s Day, when you can give them a Valentine’s Day mini pack. Available for 2 weeks only this pack contains a heap of stickers and a lovely Sackboy costume for that special person. The perfect gift for that special Sackgirl.


12 February
This week is about the characters! Sackboy will be getting an Ape Escape Costume AND a Toro Costume for some classic Playstation love.


19 February
This is the most exciting week and is marked down on my calendar. The WipEout Costume Kit will hit the DLC and be available for you. I can't wait to zoom around levels in this costume or see any WipEout themed levels that pop up for these. So go, get creating!


While Sony have said that some of these release dates might change, they will keep us updated as each week gets closer. It feels like heaps to look forward too but only a fraction of what they have in store. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that they hit these dates and keep the good stuff coming!
