StarCraft and Brood War get patched to 1.16.1
Blizzard Entertainment have today continued their tradition of legendary post-launch support, having just released yet another patch for their genre-defining RTS, StarCraft. The latest update brings the game to 1.16.1, and fixes three bugs, with the addition of a new menu feature, allowing the game to use less CPU cycles.

The update is available in a number of flavours. We've got the Windows v 1.16.1 patch and Mac v1.61.1 patch for the original StarCraft install, along with the Windows Brood War v 1.16.1 and the Mac Brood War v 1.16.1 patches for those who also have the expansion installed. We've also got our hands on the complete change list, too.

Patch 1.16.1

Feature Changes

- In-game Speed Options menu now has a "Enable CPU Throttling" checkbox.
Enabling this option will allow StarCraft to consume fewer CPU cycles. By default this option is off.

Bug Fixes

- Fixed an issue with the reply feature where any character followed by a "r " was being treated as a reply.
- Removed an unnecessary delay when processing palette cycling updates.
- Lessened the imposed delay in the CPU Throttling feature.
