Guitar Hero: World Tour to rock with Aussie artist track pack

With January almost over, and Australia Day fast approaching, Activision and Red Octane have announced that three Aussie acts will see appearances in Guitar Hero: World Tour. The three flag bearers for the occasion are Silverchair, Wolfmother, and The Vines.

Silverchair's track Tomorrow, headlines the track-pack, and is joined by Dimensions by Wolfmother and Outtathaway by The Vines. While the track pack is currently available on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, those who'd like this on time for Australia Day on their PlayStation 3 or Nintendo Wii will see it made available on the 5th of February.

Each of the tracks were selected based on their merit as either break-out hits or songs that garnered the individual bands widespread success outside of Australia. For example, Silverchair's Tommorow was the winner of a SBS competition, whilst Dimensions by Sydney based Wolfmother saw the band catapulted to an International stage. Outtahaway by The Vines saw great successes in the band's early years, having been described as "electrifying" and "sensational".

The Australian track pack is available on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace now - and can be purchased for 440 Microsoft Points (or 160 points per track). On the PlayStation 3 the tracks will be available as a package for $9.95 or $3.45 each. Finally, Wii owners will be able to purchase individual tracks for 160 Wii Points.
